Piedmont Golfers Begin Season Today

The Piedmont Academy golf team has its sights set on the state tournament this spring.

Tyler Cullum, Kevin McBroom, Drew Collins, James Marks, Branson Parish, P.J. Leonetti, Chase Olson, Jacob Bowers and Savannah McGinnis will compete for the Cougars on the links this spring.

“Practices have gone fairly well so far,” said coach Wes Tanner. “We want to be playing our best when it matters the most and that’s the region and state tournaments. We want to qualify as a team for the state tournament, put a score out there and see what happens. We simply want to give ourselves a chance. That’s all we can do.”

Piedmont is scheduled to face Gatewood, today, March 8 at 3:30 p.m. at the Harbor Club. The Cougars will also face Nathanael Greene Monday at Greene County Country Club.
