Philip Anthony Ledbetter

Philip Anthony Ledbetter, 54, died Friday, March 2, 2012, in Monticello.

“Phil” Ledbetter was born in Atlanta. He lived in College Park until moving to Monticello in 1970. Before retirement, he was an equipment operator for Georgia Pacific Corporation for 12 years.

He loved many types of sporting events and his favorite was fishing. He was a huge fan of the University of Georgia Bulldogs

Mr. Ledbetter’s father, Archie LaVonne Ledbetter; brothers, Steven LaVonne Ledbetter, and Stanley Lee Ledbetter; and sister, Julie Anne Smith, all preceded him in death.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, Minnie L. and Al Sorenson of Conyers; stepson and spouse, Michael and Susan Gilroy of Jeanette, PA, sisters and brother-in-law, Donna Reneé and Bill Bowling of McDonough, and JoAnne Ross of Phoenix City, Ala.; and brother, Doug Sorenson of Monticello.

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 4, 2012, at the chapel of Jordan Funeral Home, with Rev. Dale Parker officiating.

The family planned a private interment Monday, March 5, at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Fairburn.
