Austin Peek Is State Wrestling Champ

Austin Peek and Tyler Seawright both students of Jasper County Middle School, represented New Rock Wrestling Club of Covington at the USA Wrestling Georgia Big Kids State Championship last Saturday at Parkview High School in Lilburn.

Mr. Peek took first place in the 12 and under, 230 pound weight class and Mr. Seawright took third place in the 14 and under, 210 pound weight class.

New Rock wrestling club also had Vance Lewis take third place 12 and under 160 pound weight class and Mike Thurman took fourth place in the 14 and under 190 pound weight class. Both of these young men are enrolled at Indian Creek Middle School in Covington.

New Rock wrestling club is ran by Coach Michael Smith-Foot who was assisted at last weekends tournament by Will Johnson, Coach Kermit Robinson from Veterans Memorial Middle School.
