Piedmont Baseball Opener Is Postponed

The Piedmont Academy varsity baseball team continues to prepare for its first official game of the 2012 season.

The Cougars were initially scheduled to play in Loganville Saturday, but those games were then moved to Monticello since Loganville Christian’s field was not ready. The weather which moved through the area on Friday, however, caused the field at Piedmont to not be suitable for play the next day.

Coach Danny Camp said his team will now play its first regular season game Monday against Nathanael Greene at home. The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.

The Cougars scrimmaged Tattnall Square Tuesday and were set to schedule Peachtree Academy Wednesday.
