Grand Jury Indicts Molesters, Others

A Jasper County Grand Jury heard evidence and returned True Bills of Indictment against three separate alleged child molesters Monday.

Timothy W. Norris was indicted on four counts of child molestation, while Steven Jay Champion was indicted on three counts of child molestation. In addition, Michael P. Watson was indicted on two counts, bringing to three his total charges as he was indicted on one count last year, and that case is on the court calendar for next week.

An indictment by the Grand Jury is not an indication of guilt, but rather that sufficient evidence has been presented to take the case to trial at a future date, unless a plea bargain is reached prior to such date.

Twenty-four other True Bills were also returned by the Grand Jury, with names and charges indicted below:

• Emmanuel Togba—Rape, kidnapping and aggravated sodomy.

• Charles E. Lynch—aggravated assault on a peace officer (two counts), aggravated assault (two counts), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony (two counts).

• Tyler B. Landress—serious injury by vehicle, driving under the influence, driving under the influence less safe and safety belt violation.

• Dawne Slater Parker—terroristic threats and acts (two counts), burglary, false imprisonment and cruelty to children in the third degree.

• James W. Truskosky—sale of Dihydrocodeione.

• Samuel Williams—aggravated assault (two counts).

• Cody Dotter—burglary (two counts) and entering auto (two counts).

• Christopher Fowler, Jr:—burglary (two counts).

• Matthew Dixon, III—criminal damage to property in the second degree and entering auto.

• Austin D. Dunlap—burglary and possession of marijuana less than one ounce.

• Timothy S. West—manufacturing marijuana.

• Misty Vigreux—insurance fraud.

• Marvin C. Stinson—burglary and interference with government property.

• Kenyatta Standifer and Cedric Donnell Stone—theft by deception (two counts).

• Alonzo D. Standifer—kidnapping and battery.

• Hellen Middlebroks, Jennifer Middlebrooks, James Holloway and Jimmy Holland—burglary.

• James L. Maroney—aggravated assault.

• Daniel R. Lopez (AKA Daniel Lopez Roldan)—burglary and obstruction of officer.

• Derwin R. Jackson—manufacturing marijuana.

• Rachel Martin—battery-family violence, criminal damage to property in the second degree and false statements and writings.

• Richard Davis Johnson, III—possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, driving while license suspended and speeding.

• Bobbie Carol Elkins—interference with government property and obstruction of officer.

• Amanda Sue Custer—making a false statement.

• Travis Clemons—crossing guard line with contraband and battery-family violence.

Also, a no-bill was returned on two charges of abandoning dogs against Bonnie E. Spearman.
