Man Is Charged in Stabbing

Henry Odom of Monticello was arrested last week and charged with aggravated assault, according to an incident report by the Monticello Police Department (MPD).
The arrest came after an officer with the MPD responded to a call from a residence on Bonner Street where the victim was found bleeding from a knife wound to his neck. The arrest was made after the victim and a witness identified Mr. Odom as the assailant.
When the officer asked the victim why Mr. Odom stabbed him, the victim said “he’s crazy,” according to the report from the Monticello Police Department.
Mr. Odom was employed as a parapro at Jasper County Primary School, and has resigned.
Mr. Odom has been released from the Jasper County Jail on a $20,000 property bond.
Other arrests reported by the MPD during the period of January 17 through 24 include the following:

•Ashley Nicole Fielding, 22, Monticello—theft by taking and unauthorized use of a financial transaction card.
•Lillie Patricia-Nicole Whaley, 24, Monticello—theft by taking.
•James Nicholas Bailey, 19, Monticello—theft by taking and criminal trespass.
•Jordan Daniel Lange, 23, Covington—theft by taking, criminal trespass, criminal trespass and possession of marijuana less than 1oz.
During this same period officers with the MPD responded to 56 calls for service including 18 escort or convoy, 14 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, five subject needs officer, three each burglary and mechanical break down, two each accident and private property, one each alarm, intoxicated pedestrian, fall, EMS, assist invalid, stabbing, trouble unknown, trespassing and 911 hang up.
Also, during the period of January 16 through 18 the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) reported the following criminal activity:
•On January 18 a resident on Lakeshore Drive in Alcovy Shores reported the theft of gasoline from a truck.
•On January 17 a resident on Bear Creek Point reported the theft of a financial transaction card.
•On January 16 a resident on Clay Road in South Jasper County reported the theft of a weed eater, an air compressor, a drill, a leaf blower and a wood router.

During the period of January 17 through 24 the JCSO reported the following arrests:
•Jemel Leejuan Whitlock, 23, Jackson—probation violation, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon or first offender and theft by deception.
•Joshua Scott Hudson, 21, Covington—probation violation.
•Aaron Eugene Bratcher, Sr., 66, Hillsboro—battery.
•Patrick Ellis Rose, 28, Covington—disorderly conduct.
•Richard Davis Johnson, III, 23, Monticello—possession with intent to distribute marijuana and probation violation.
•Jerry Lee Cooper, 41, Atlanta—probation violation.
•Jessie Frank Craver, Jr., 23, Covington—Jasper County Superior Court failure to appear.
Also during this period deputies with the JCSO responded to 140 calls for service including 48 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 14 subject needs officer, 11 each assist motorist and accident, five alarm, four each livestock on road, mechanical break down and pick up prisoner, and three each burglary and domestic.
Also, two each escort or convoy, trouble unknown, threatening/harassing calls, vandalism of property and road hazard, one each prowler report, speeding auto, courtesy ride, theft by taking, wanted/stolen/indited, be on the look out, overdose, deliver emergency message, missing person, four wheeler, juvenile complaint, discharge of firearms, stabbing, private property, property found, trespassing, argument, abandoned vehicle, attempt to serve warrant, fraud/theft by deceiving, 911 hang up, sick, and transport of patient.
During the same period, the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) reported the arrest of Lisa Amos Dixon, 46, Eatonton: driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and failure to maintain lane.
