Jakey Dunagan finished with four points while Tyler Cullum made a 3-point basket. Zach Beggs scored two.
“It is always good to beat a good team when you don’t play your best,” said boys coach Josh Daher. “We fought and found a way to win. I think we are starting to figure out that we can play with anyone as long as we play disciplined.”
Prior to Tuesday, Piedmont split games with Brentwood on the road Friday.
The boys took a 48-36 win as Kimball scored 17 points and Dunagan finished with 16. Wilson contributed 10 points in the win.
After a slow start, Piedmont trailed 18-12 at halftime but out-scored Brentwood 38-18 in the second half. A 20-11 run in the fourth quarter helped seal the win. It was the first time in five seasons the Piedmont boys have won at Brentwood.
“It’s all about getting hot at the right time and playing you best when it counts,” Daher said. “We are showing improvements, and I hope everything comes together in a couple weeks.”
The Lady Cougars were not as fortunate Friday dropping a 43-23 contest to Brentwood. Lanie King was the lone Piedmont player in double figures with 10 points. Burnham finished with five points while Tyler scored four. Anna Jones and Cain both scored two points.
The Piedmont girls trailed 31-16 after the third quarter.
