Canes Defeat Jones County, Again

The ‘Canes varsity boys’ basketball team defeated Jones County Saturday, 38-36 before going on the Christmas break. They also defeated this AAAA team back on November 29 by a score of 46-44.

This win gives the team a season-to-date record of 4-5 and a region record of 1-2, placing them in seventh place in the nine-team region, with Pike and Southwest bringing up eighth and ninth place.

At this point in the season Morgan County is in first place in Region 4AA with a 5-0 and 3-0 record, followed by Greene at 3-7 and 3-1, Crawford at 2-6 and 2-1, Northeast at 4-4 and 2-2, Lamar at 3-4 and 2-2 and Putnam at 2-5 and 2-2.

The ‘Canes are scheduled to resume action on December 27, 28 and 29, on the road for the Jones County State Bank and Trust Company Holiday Classic.
