Contest Proves Tough; Only Four Get 12 Right

The tides have turned again as this week’s Monticello News football contest was more difficult than normal with only one player, David Banks, guessing as many as 13 correct picks to be this week’s winner.
Mr. Banks picked up a $25 cash prize from Larry’s 4 Way at the corner of Jackson Lake Road and Hwy. 212 west.
Mr. Banks has been playing the contest for about five years, he said, and when The News staff asked him for his favorite team, or if he had a weekly favorite, he laughed a little and said that he “tries to pick the winners…”
Mr. Banks was given his cash prize by Leslie Johnson, 10-year-veteran employee of Larry’s 4 Way.
Only three players besides Mr. Banks guessed as many as 12 right to make the honor roll this week. In addition to Mr. Banks, those added include Ryan McDonald, Gaven Edge, and Henry Victrum.
Players should sharpen their pencils and get out their pens as this is the final week for the contest. The winner will pick up a $25 prize from Hamilton State Bank.
Players should strive to make a good score as anyone with 12 or more correct picks will be entered into the drawing for four Chick-fil-a Bowl tickets for New Year’s Eve.
Also, check the list and make sure your name is on there, and has the right number of entries beside it. If you tink there is a mistake, contact The Monticello News at 706-468-6511 as soon as posible.
The drawing for those tickets will be held next Thursday, Dec. 15, at noon.
