Run-off Is Tuesday

Monticello residents will know Tuesday night who will be the mayor pro-tem of the city for the next four years.

A run-off between Bobby Jacobs and Mollie Pompey is set for Tuesday, Dec. 6, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. A number of people have taken advantage of early voting, and will continue to vote through Friday, Dec. 2.

No voting is allowed on Monday, Dec. 5, and polls will be open Tuesday. The remainder of the City Council was elected on November 8.

Mayor-elect is Bryan Standifer. City Councilmen for District 1 are Larry Thurman and Cornell Williams.

City Council persons for District 2 are Randy Strozier and Katherine Alexander.
