Guns Are Stolen from Hillsboro Home

A rifle and a handgun were stolen from a residence on Tillman Mill Road in Hillsboro, according to information received from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).

The incident was reported by the victim to the JCSO last Wednesday, Nov. 15. The stolen guns were described as a Savage 30 caliber Bill English rifle with the serial number of 964511, and a “J” carved on both sides of the stock, and also a Smith and Wesson pistol model number 915 with a serial number of VCH24479.

Also, three other incidents of criminal activity were reported by the JCSO last week, as follows:

• On November 19 a resident on Blue Heron Drive reported the theft of a bicycle.

• On November 18 a resident on Brazey Road reported the theft of two checks and a forgery.

• On November 12 a resident on Turtle Cove Trailway reported the theft of diamond earrings, a pearl necklace on a white gold chain, a two-tone yellow and white gold twisted chain and a white gold herringbone chain.

In addition, during the period of November 15 to 21, the JCSO reported the following arrests:

• Alesha Roxanne Wyatt, 30, Mansfield—hindering, apprehension or punishment of a criminal.

• Charles Hubert Williamson, 42, Mansfield—simple battery.

• Robert Lanis Chaisson, 38, Jefferson—probation violation.

• Pecola Blocker King, 63, Mansfield—disorderly conduct.

• Kathryn Denise Clark, 51, Monticillo—disorderly conduct.

During this same period deputies with the JCSO responded to 110 calls for service including 43 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, seven alarm, six each accident, theft by taking and subject needs officer, four welfare check, three mechanical break down, and two each fight, assist motorist, livestock on road, pickup prisoner, mental person, road hazard and abandoned vehicle.

Also, one each dog disturbance, prowler report, speeding auto, intoxicated driver, escort or convoy, child custody case, juvenile complaint, discharge firearms, private property, kidnapping, music/noise complaint, gas drive off, vandalism of property, checking location, trespassing, argument, identity fraud/theft and 911 hang up.

During the period mentioned above the Monticello Police Department (MPD) reported the following arrests:

• Jamar Jacques White, 24, Milledgeville—disorderly conduct.

• Donavin Kentrell Sands, 22, Monticello—criminal trespass.

• Ronnie Eugene Goolsby, 46, Monticello—littering and public drunkenness.

• Tommy Lee Rooks, 53, Monticello—obstruction or hindering law enforcement officers, simple battery and pedestrian under the influence.

Also, during this period officers with the MPD responded to 76 calls for service including 31 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, nine escort or convoy, five subject needs officer, four domestic, two each alarm, speeding auto, mechanical break down, miscellaneous EMS, and 911 hang up, one each fight, dog disturbance, intoxicated pedestrian, fire structure, theft by taking, wanted/stolen indicated, deliver emergency message, welfare check, discharge firearms, dead on arrival, kidnapping, trouble unknown, vandalism of property, persons refuse to leave and 911 hang up.
