Long Time Player Gets 13 Right to Win Contest

ORLANDO JONES JR., MAGEN WAGES

Orlando Jones says he’s been playing The Monticello News football contest for 13-14 years, and has won five or six times, and this week he was the only one to get as many as 13 right in the weekly contest.

He beat out a slew of others who had 12 right in a relatively easy contest week. Mr. Jones correctly picked Georgia Tech to beat Clemson, a game missed by many.

Mr. Jones collected a $25 prize from Magen Wages who was standing in for Kelly Fox at Fox & Yeomans Insurance. A miscommunication between Mr. Fox and The News staff resulted in him being listed as last week’s prize sponsor when he meant to be this week’s sponsor. Oops. Mrs. Wages presented the prize for him.

This week one lucky, or smart, contest player will pick up a $25 prize from Venture Medical Associates.

This year has seen novice players win, and has seen many, like Mr. Jones, win again. The only catch is entry forms must be turned in to The Monticello News no later than 5 p.m. tomorrow, Nov. 4. They may be brought in person or faxed to 706-468-6576.

The contest entry form, games and complete rules are listed on page 10 of today’s newspaper. All players who get 12 or more right will be entered into the grand prize drawing for a four ticket package to the Chick-Fil-A Bowl in Atlanta.

Remember to write legibly, and only one entry per person!
