Lady Cougars Advance to Final Four

For the second year in a row the Piedmont Academy fast-pitch Lady Cougars will compete in the Final Four.

After several delays, the Lady Cougars swept Windsor Thursday to advance to the semifinal round which begins Saturday in Dublin. The quarterfinal matchup with Windsor was supposed to be held Wednesday but was pushed back a day due to weather conditions.

Even Thursday the teams had to wait out additional delays before Piedmont earned a 6-4, 8-0 sweep in Macon. Lady Cougar coach Danny Camp said Thursday night his team will face LaGrange at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Brentwood and Flint River have also advanced to the GISA Class AA FInal Four.

Piedmont has not lost a postseason game, sweeping both Edmund Burke and Windsor.
