Katherine Alexander Is Seeking Re-Election

Katherine Alexander is announcing her reelection bid for the City Council seat in District 2, Post 2.

“There is more we can do to better the City of Monticello and its residents,” she said. “I would like to move Monticello forward by planning for our future in a fiscally responsible way. In the current economy we cannot expect our citizens to bear the financial burden of operating the city.

“Continuing projects like water and sewer system upgrades, sidewalk projects, and electric system upgrades have begun but are far from finished. All of these projects will help enhance one’s property values as well as provide the base for attracting industry.

Industry has proven to be vital to the well-being of our economy and I pledge to work towards attracting and retaining industry by providing the infrastructure they need to support them, as well as bringing much needed jobs to this area. I am an advocate for low property taxes and utility rates, two things that are important to the bottom line of our citizens and businesses. I am also proud of the work we have begun on our city parks. There is nothing better than hearing children playing in a fun and safe environment.

I truly love this City and would not want to raise my family anywhere else! I ask for your vote and your support in moving Monticello forward.
