JoJo Jordan Wins Contest; Many Make Honor Roll

CLIINTON CURRIE, JOANNE JORDAN

Long time contest player, and one time Chick-fil-A bowl ticket recipient, Joanne Jordan took the top prize in The Monticello News football contest this week. She picked up a $25 dollar check from Clinton Currie at Napa Auto Parts for her efforts.

Ms. Jordan guessed 14 right out of the 15 games listed on last week’s contest. She beat five others who also had 14 right, but were further off on the tie-breaker score, the Hurricanes 18-6 loss to Northeast. Ms. Jordan guessed 32 points would be scored in that

game. Everyone else guessed more.

Those who also got 14 right were Thomasa Bowden, Tom Brazil, Keith Mason, Roger Minter, and Lisa Stork.

Those, along with about 50 others who got 12 or 13 right will have their names added to the honor roll this week.

When Ms. Jordan picked up her check, she said that she’d played the contest for a long time, and simply works to make it onto the honor roll each year.

She said that in year’s past, she “stuck to picking loyalties but here lately, it was more of a dart throw to see where they land.” She said that she had no set method, and this week that worked.

This week she had no idea about the games, she usually is done in by “the high school games, and the pros after that, she is fairly good at picking the college winners,” Ms. Jordan said.

Anyone can play the contest located on Page 15 of this week’s Monticello News.
