Catherine “Ma’Kayla” Easom

Catherine “Ma’Kayla” Easom, 14, of Monticello died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011 in a Macon health care facility.

A native of Upson County, Ma’Kayla had lived in Jasper County, and was an eighth grader at Jasper County Middle School.

She was a member of the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church. Ma’Kayla was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Joyce Bennett, Boyce Easom, and Michael Nicholson, and by a very special friend, Kristina Sellers.

Survivors include parents Michael and Trallis Nicholson of Monticello and Joseph Martin, II of Griffin; brothers and sisters, Nathan and Angel Nicholson, Mason Thompson, and Brynli and Abrym Martin; grandparents Pam and Gary Brown of Monticello and Roger Bennett of Monroe County, Regina Sampler and Joseph Martin; also, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 1, in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Barnesville with Rev. Clyde Bennett officiating. Interment was private.
