Lady Canes Are Deer Capital Classic Champions

The Lady ‘Canes seemed to be peaking in their performance at the correct time as region tournament-time nears.
As proof of this they went 5-0 in the Deer Capital Classic last weekend, defeating Taylor County 11-6, Mary Persons 3-1, Lamar 16-6, Warner Robins 1-0, and defeated Mary Persons a second time, by a score of 6-5 for the tournament championship.
They have also won six straight games and are 8-2 for their last 10 games, giving them an overall record of 15-8-1.
Offensively, Sam Johnson, Heather Anderson and Kaitlen Needham all had a good tournament, but Sharika Pennamon led the offense with two doubles, a home run and a game winning hit in the bottom of the seventh inning of the championship game.
