Beverly Collette “Bell” Gibson Cannon
Beverly Collette “Bell” Gibson Cannon 56, died September 2, 2011.
She was born to Bessie J. Davis of Monticello and Johnnie Gibson of Lumber City in Monticello on August 22, 1954.
She attended Jasper County public schools and later earned her GED in Cobb County. She had lived and worked in several metro Atlanta areas. She always maintained a positive attitude, and was an active member of The Perfect Church in Atlanta where she sang in the choir.
The ones who knew her celebrated her life at a service on September 10 at Porterdale Presbyterian Church. Bishop Joe L. Ridley
officiated.
Her life was void of pain and sickness, and friends and family share in the joy of having known such a giving person. She especially loved children and the elderly. She was well known for the “best boiled peanuts,” at the Atlanta Braves games. She found her peace in cooking.
Survivors include her husband, Albert M. Cannon, Sr., a daughter, Natasha Cannon of Douglasville, sons, Anthony Scott Dudley of Atlanta, and Albert M. Cannon, Jr. of Austell; a sister, Sandra Joyce Gibson of Anniston, Ala.; six brothers, Robert Dennis James and William Lanier Gibson, both of Monticello, Richard David James of Martinez, Ronald Douglass James of Riverdale, Roger Steven Gibson of Winston Salem, N.C., and Michael Wayne Gibson of Atlanta.
Also, two grandchildren, Albert III and Jadin, a devoted aunt, Derestine Deneson of Atlanta, and a host of nieces nephews, relatives and friends.
