MS Cougars Win Again

The Piedmont Academy Middle School football team recorded a 48-14 victory against visiting Windsor last Thursday.

For coach Josh Daher, the win was set up by several solid days of preparation.

“We had a great week of practice and took what we learned and carried it over to the game,” Daher said. “As a coach, that is always great to see. We have a really talented backfield, and our offensive line is really starting to come together.”

Helping clear the way for the Middle School Cougars are Zach Wilson, Chris Cain, Clay Kirkpatrick, Michael Edwards, Wyatt Galloway, Cody Blackmon and Zach Mooney.

“They opened up some huge holes for our backs to run through,” Daher said. “Our line understands that we are only going to be as good as they are, and I believe they have accepted the challenge and are going out every day to work to get better.”

Coaches Alvin Hawkes and John Brown work with the offensive linemen.

“They keep high expectations for our line and I believe that is why they are continuing to improve,” Daher said.

Piedmont is off today but is preparing for John Milledge next week.

“We are excited about the game,” Daher said. “We know we have to execute, play smart and control the football against a very talented team.”
