Lydia Maureen Goolsby
Lydia Maureen Evans Goolsby, 47, of Shady Dale, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011.
Ms. Goolsby was born in Muenchweiler, Germany. At the age of 16, she moved to the United States and at the age of 18, she moved to Monticello. Her father was the late Dwight Lee Evans, Sr. She managed the Hwy. 142 Bar and Grill in Shady Dale. For a number of years, Ms. Evans worked for the Monticello Manufacturing Company and The Plant Parlor. She loved hanging out at the river and riding dirt roads, camping on the beach, especially Cumberland Island, and gardening. She loved being with her friends and family, but mostly being a grandmother to Angelina.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Gonyou of Shady Dale; granddaughter, Angelina Williams of Shady Dale; mother, Sigrid Eberle Derosia of Carthage, N.Y.; stepson, Adam Goolsby of Warner Robins; brothers, Markus Evans of Englewood, Fla., Dwight Evans of Watertown, N.Y., Robert Burns of Carthage, N.Y.; and sister, Bridget Woodward of Carthage, N.Y.
A memorial service was held Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Chris Evans officiated.
