Four Are Charged With Burglary

Late last week a deputy with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) was dispatched to a location on Stag Run Drive in reference to a domestic dispute.

According to information received from the JCSO, the deputy separated the parties and collected information. The dispute resulted in a civil matter and a report was filed. However, upon further investigation it was determined there was property missing from the barn located on the premises.

Four suspects were found on Ashwood Drive with the reported missing property in their possession and warrants were issued on Monday, Aug. 30 charging Jerry Kay Middlebbrooks of Conyers, Helen E. Middlebrooks of Madison, James B. Holloway also of Madison, and Jimmy L. Holland of Monticello with burglary. Of the four, only Mr. Holland has turned himself in to the JCSO.

Other incidents of criminal activity reported by the JCSO for the past week include the following:

•On August 29 a red 1990 Chevrolet was reported stolen from Shiloh Church in Newborn.

•On August 28 a resident on Rocky Creek Road in Mansfield reported a forced entry, but did not specify the items taken.

•On August 24 a resident on Templeton Circle in Mansfield reported the theft of bricks from the front yard.

Also during the period of August 23 through 30 the JCSO reported the following arrests:

•Doris Vanessa Potts, 45, Stone Mountain—deposit account fraud.

•Tonya Marie Busby, 34, Griffin—battery.

•Donald Torry Beacham, 32, Newborn—simple battery.

•Tracey Eshawn Clark, 41, Monticello—probation violation.

•Donte Rashard Stodghill, 24, McDonough—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and striking an unattended auto.

•Roberto Torres Williams, 38, Shady Dale—child support.

•Michael Clyde Nicholson, 36, Monticello—hold for Upson County warrant.

•Tony Steven Wallace, Jr., 21, Mansfield—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, no proof of insurance, reckless driving, leaving scene of an accident and striking a fixed object.

•Stephanie Gwin Mason, 42, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, no proof of insurance, reckless driving, striking a fixed object and leaving the scene of an accident.

•Robert Donta Clark, 27, Newborn—probation violation.

During this same period deputies with the JCSO responded to 158 calls for service including 55 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, eight each mechanical break down and person needs officer, seven each alarm and accident, six domestic, five juvenile complaint, four each dog disturbance, checking location and road hazard, three each speeding auto, pick up prisoner four wheeler, trouble unknown, music/noise complaint and threatening/harassing calls, two each prowler report, burglary, escort or convoy, theft by taking, wanted/stolen indicated, vandalism of property, trespassing, argument and attempt to serve warrant, one each fight, road blocked, livestock on road, fire/vehicle, special detail, be on lookout, utility dept needed, fall, child abuse.molestation, extra patrol, private property, persons refuse to leave, abandoned vehicle and fraud/theft by deceiving.

The Monticello Police Department (MPD) did not report any arrests during this period, however, officers with the MPD responded to 98 calls for service including 45 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 19 escort or convoy, four each subject needs officer and juvenile complaint, three each alarm, accident and trouble unknown, one each fight, domestic, assist motorist, speeding auto, direct traffic, fire/vehicle, theft by taking, utility dept needed, Misc fire, welfare check, four wheeler, private property, music/noise complaint, vandalism of property, argument and 911 hang up.
