Thieves Strike Locations In North Jasper County
Three recent criminal incident reports by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) have taken place in the same general area.
On February 5, a property owner on Hodges Farm Road reported the theft of various tools and a Craftsman lawnmower. Also, on February 4 a resident on Henderson Mill Road reported the theft of Honda four wheeler and a Kawasaki dirt bike. Another report on February 4 came from a resident on County Line Extension where miscellaneous household items, a microwave oven, knives and prescription drugs were reported stolen.
Two other criminal incidents reported by the JCSO include the following:
•On February 8 a citizen reported the January 31 theft of a Chevrolet Astro van stolen on Concord Road in Shady Dale.
•On February 8 a resident on Pheasant Court reported the January 25 theft of copper wire with an approximate value of $1,000.

Also, during the period of February 4-11 the JCSO reported the following arrests:

•Marquis Dewjuan Jackson, 30, Monticello—probation violation.
•Daniel Aaron Whitby, 17, Monticello—disruption of public school.
•Brandon Dwight Hodge, 38, Newborn—criminal trespass.
•Michael Eugene Couch, 38, Covington—failure to appear bench warrant.
•Arthur Neal Bridges, 23, Norcross—hold for warrant in Morgan
County.
•Jeremy Kim Buckhalter, 32, Moultrie—driving while license suspended or revoked.
•Earl Recado Thomas, 54, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and passing in a no passing zone.
During this same time period deputies with the JCSO responded to 142 calls for service including 45 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 11 subject needs officer, 10 accident seven alarm, six assist motorist, five threatening/harassing calls, four each escort or convoy and pick up prisoner/subject, three each livestock on road, music/noise complaint, vandalism of property, argument and 911 hang up.
Also, two each burglary, courtesy ride, theft by taking, welfare check, four wheeler, trouble unknown, persons refuse to leave, sex offender check and attempt to serve warrant, one each fight, domestic, speeding auto, intoxicated pedestrian, mechanical break down, fire, wanted/stolen indicated, be on the look out, chocking person, miscellaneous ems. juvenile complaint, discharge fire arms, private property, property found, checking location, road hazard and abandoned vehicle.
Also during this period, the Monticello Police Department (MPD) reported the arrest of John Andre Whidby, Jr., 30, of Monticello, and charged him with driving on a suspended or revoked license.
During this same period officers with the MPD responded to 58 calls for service including 23 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, five escort or convoy, four alarm, three each persons refuse to leave and sick, two each dog disturbance, trouble unknown, shoplifter and identity fraud/theft.
In addition, during the period mentioned above the Georgia State Patrol reported the following tow arrests:
•John Michael Johnson, 43, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (less safe).
•Michael Lewis Smith, 61, Covington—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (less safe), possession of marijuana less than one ounce and failure to maintain lane.
