You Are Loved
“Sunshine on my shoulder makes me happy” is my theme song this week.
I had the extreme pleasure to spend the day with my eldest daughter last Friday.
A sister in Christ blessed me with tickets to the Women of Faith conference, and I just couldn’t think of anyone that I would rather take with me than the blood of my blood, Julieann.
We started the morning early, drove to the unknown…Atlanta. There was absolutely no traffic on the way (this was Friday morning, let me remind you), and we found a parking area that led right up to the Phillips Arena.
I could go on and on about how God blessed us with “little perfect simplicities,” but you would just want to smack me. Needless to say, we had a wonderful time.
There was one moment that I will never forget, and I am going to share this with you…in just a minute. Before I do, let me ask you a couple of questions.
Do you go searching for memorable moments? Do you hope to find some life-changing event so that you can feel full again? Do you even slow down enough to enjoy these times?
Well, I had one of those moments, without any planning or set-up, wasn’t expecting it, and then it just happened.
Julieann, my sweet daughter, without any indication of what was about to happen, put her head on my shoulder! Then she wrapped her arms around me and hugged me, through an entire song! It was wonderful. It made my whole weekend.
I wasn’t able to attend the conference on Saturday because a large group of believers went on a warpath to chase Satan out of our county by praying over the schools, and anointing every road that enters Jasper County.
We could have gone back to Atlanta, but I got what I needed out of the conference the day before; my Julieann poured her love into me and reminded me how much she…and Jesus love me. That is what I was truly searching for.
One more question, do you know how much Jesus loves you this week; or have you forgotten? Have you had your hug today? Some of you out there may not have anyone to hug your neck; and the very thought of that breaks my heart for you.
I want to remind you that Jesus wants to ‘hug’ you, every minute of every day. I would like to suggest that you let Him.
I tell you what, you come on up to the thrift store and somebody will hug your neck.
Seriously…just walk right in the front door and say out loud…” I could really use a hug today!”
Without a doubt at least four people will run up to you with open arms and a smile! You are loved and so am I, the Bible tells us so.
Don’t believe me? Pull out that Bible and read it, I pray that you will be reminded.
Peace and Love, Cheryl
