Piedmont Academy’s fast-pitch softball team evened its season record with an 8-0 win against Nathanael Greene on the road Tuesday.

Carla Martin earned the win as the Lady Cougars completed the afternoon’s work in six innings. Several players had big days at the plate including Cheyenne Galloway (2-for-4), Heather Tyler (2-for-4, double, homerun, three RBI) and Anna Jones (2-for-4).
Piedmont improved to 3-3 overall with the win.

Piedmont’s B-team played a doubleheader with Central Fellowship last Thursday with both teams earning a 6-3 win.

“We got a lot of quality work in with our eighth, ninth and tenth grade players,” Camp said. “We have the numbers this year for a B-team. This will allow them to compete together more which will benefit us in the long run.”

The varsity and B-team squads will host Briarwood today beginning at 4 p.m. The varsity will then travel to Eatonton to face Gatewood Tuesday at 4 p.m.

There will also be a middle school/B-team doubleheader Saturday against Sinclair Christian. The middle school will play at 10 a.m. followed by the B-team at noon.
