Nature Photography Contest Features New Category

The winner of Best in Show for this year’s nature photography contest, sponsored by Jordan Funeral Home and The Monticello News, will receive a Canon Rebel SLR camera.

Ribbons will be awarded to the winners in each of three categories—landscapes, wildlife, and wildflowers. Ribbons will be awarded in each category for persons under 16. A trophy and ribbon will be awarded to Best in Show.

In addition, this year a special award will be given for the best cicada photo.

Rules for the contest requires that the photos are taken in Georgia or a state bordering Georgia. To enter, persons must be a Jasper County resident or subscribe to The Monticello News. Photos must be submitted as a print no smaller than 4×6 or larger than 8.5×11.
All entries must be in an official envelope that can be picked up at Jordan Funeral Home, Hillsboro Street, or The Monticello News office, 237 West Washington Street.

The deadline for entries will be Friday, Sept. 2, at 5 p.m.
