Lady Tracksters Advance to State

Several Lady ‘Canes qualified at last week’s regional tournament to advance to the state track meet this coming Monday, May 9, at Lamar.

Shanel Lewis, Miracale Hardwick, Janee Chapman and Alkeili Ross will be competing in the 4X100. Lewis will also be competing in the 100 meter event.

Quaneshia Bennett finished third in the shot put, but only first and second place finishers advance to state.

No one on the boy’s team qualified to advance, however, Erik Enrique finished in sixth place in the 100 meter dash. Juvenal Bermudez finished fourth in the 110 meter, and Josh Franklin finished seventh in the 100 meter.
