Victoria Penn Paschal

Victoria Penn Paschal, 91, of Athens, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle.

Miss Paschal was born in Monticello, to the late Joseph Linwood Penn and Fannie Davis Blackwell Penn.

She was an active member of the Young Harris Memorial United Methodist Church in Athens, an active member of her Sunday School Class, and the Older Gems.

Miss Paschal was also a member of the Rose and Dahlia Garden Club of Athens and an accredited Georgia State Flower Show Judge.
Before retirement, she was a Civil Service employee for Baldwin County Selective Service and later retired from the Oconee County Selective Service Board.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters and brothers, Fannie Penn Callaway Adams, Mamie Penn Chaffin, Joseph D. Penn, Rosa Lee Penn Gordon, Linda Penn Barber, and Herbert C. Penn; and nephew, Edward D. Penn.

She is survived by her nieces, Mary Jim Cantera of Monticello and Linda Lee Barber of Charleston, S.C.; nephews, J.D. Penn of McDonough, Linwood Callaway of Griffin, Joseph Penn of Bay Minette, Ala., Turner Barber of Bainbridge; and a number of great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 23, at the chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Interment was held in West View Cemetery. Rev. Alan Smith and Dr. John Brown officiated.

Pallbearers were Rickey Cantera, Payden Cantera, Parish Brown, Joe Pen, Lee Callaway, and Robbie Callaway.
