Dora Helton Barr

Dora Helton Barr, 97, of Monticello, died Monday, April 25, 2011, at The Retreat Nursing Home.

Mrs. Barr was born in Dalton. She lived in Atlanta for a number of years before moving to Jasper County over 20 years ago. She was of the Baptist faith. Before retirement, Mrs. Barr was a machine operator for the Fulton Bag Cotton Mill in Atlanta.

Her husband, Roy Lee Barr preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter and son, Peggy Ray and Wayne Barr, both of Monticello; and six grandchildren.

A graveside service was held Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at 3 p.m. in Williams Payne Cemetery in Monticello. Dr. John Brown will officiate.
