They became victorious when they were able to get ahead early, stunning their opponents with suffocating defense, great passing and scoring on defense. One of Mr. Whitlock’s key strategies is to play quicker then the other team, and that is exactly what his team did.
The final score was 48-37, making this team undefeated so far as well.
In the 15-17 year-old Hoop Stars game, they had a tough match up against the Bulldogs who were just competing a run in the high school playoffs. The scoring went back and forth for a while and then the game went on with the defense toughening up.
With great coaching by Don Stodghill, he was able to motivate his team to keep them hustling and playing hard. Finally they, too, came out on top by a score of 53-52.
The Hoop Stars would like to thank all of the parents, coaches, and fans who support these young men.
