Fun at the Park

The new playground equipment has been installed at West View Park and it is being put to good use. Children have been seen playing on it daily since its installation. On Sunday of this week, two girls shared the “bouncy truck” at the playground. On Monday, children had fun on the giant playground equipment.

Work is continuing with plans for a walking trail around the top portion of the trail and looping down to the park on Magnolia Street which will be a greenspace area.

The swing set will be refurbished with new swings, and hopefully a pavilion will replace the old tennis courts which were unusable. Visionaries are hoping to have a path around the pavilion area for tricycles and such to ride on.

Funding for more park improvements will hopefully come from a sidewalk grant project taha is awaiting approval from the Department of Transportation, according to City Councilwoman Katherine Alexander.
