Many Attend Deer Capital Banquet

Approximately 250 people attended the Deer Capital’s annual banquet last Friday evening, held at the Charlie Elliot Wildlife Center.
Adam McGinnis served as master of ceremonies. The featured guest speaker was John Carpenter of Pennington Seed Company, who is featured on the BuckMaster TV show “Focus on Wildlife Management.”
After dinner, socializing, drawings, raffles and a silent auction took place.

Jasper County has long been known as Georgia’s Deer Capital. It is a premier location for hunters and provides one of the state’s leading opportunities for harvesting a trophy whitetail. The genetics of the Jasper County deer herd are some of the best in Georgia.

The vision, or main goal of the Deer Capital, is to improve the health, quality and buck-to-doe ratio in the county, and to see the herd reach its full potential for the benefit of today’s and tomorrow’s sportsmen through education and member support.
