In addition to providing a recreational opportunity for Georgia hunters, the white-tailed deer is the center of a multi-billion dollar industry. Many landowners have initiated management programs to improve the quality of deer herds. Deer Capital wants to capitalize on that industry for Jasper County.
Deer Capital is the promotion of good quality whitetail deer herds through unique management practices with hunter and landowner cooperation. Its focus is on education, heritage and conservation of the white-tail deer in Jasper County, and to assure that the county is indeed, the Deer Capital of Georgia.
“The vision of Deer Capital is to improve the health, quality and buck to doe ratio in Jasper County. Through sound management practices it is our vision to see the Jasper County deer herd reach its full potential for the benefit of todays and tomorrow’s sportsmen.
Deer Capital plans to achive its goal though education and member support. It recognizes that wildlife managemenht can be very complex, and that proper data is necessary to that management. Deer Captial works to educate hunters and landowners through two meetings annually.
