Lillian Renee James
Lillian Renee James, 60, died Friday, January 17, 2011.
She was born October 8, 1950 in Akron OH., to the late Walter H. James and the late Alice McClain James.
Ms. James was educated in the Akron School System. She furthered her studies at Oberlin university in Akron obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. She was employed at AT&T in Utah and Atlanta as a manager.
In her free time she enjoyed gardening and organizing activities at The Palms and socializing with the Birthday Club and with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandmother, Lillian James, of Akron, and a grandfather Tommy James of Chicago, Ill.
Survivors include Barbara L. James, stepmother; sisters, Dolores Hawkins, of Eatonton, Diane James of Monroe, and Darlene Woods, of Monticello; brothers, Michael James, Bronx NY, and Kenneth James of Monticello; nieces and nephews, Armon Hawkins, of Eatonton, Derric Hawkins of Jonesboro, Ronnie Ingrams, of Decatur, Kameria Ansley of Monroe, Nicholas Woods, of Bowden, James Sampson of Monticello, Darrell James of California, Lauren James of NJ., Desmond James of Monticello, Kendra James Ridley of Monticello, Kia Marshall, Kenneth James, Jr. Keida James, all of Jackson; cousins, Lillie Ruth and Gena Guess, and a host of great nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She also leaves devoted friends Yvonne Rice, and Tina Rowland and staff of the Palms at Lake Spivey Community, especially Ron Smith.
A service was held January 21 at Springfield Baptist Church in Monticello. Rev. Jimmy Horton, pastor.
Smith and sons funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
