New Doctors Office

Growth in Jasper County, like most of the country, came to a screeching halt some time ago as the nation weathers a recession. So it is a welcome sight to see a new business in our community.

Construction is moving apace on the new doctors’ office building which will open this spring. It is located on Venture Court in the cul-de-sac, between Monticello Pawn Shop and Monticello Animal Clinic. David Born owns the property and is building the office to lease to local doctors.

Dr. Shannon Barton and Dr. Kenny Blake will leave the Primary Care Center at the end of February. When the Venture Medical Associates building is complete, those two doctors will open their practices there, hopefully in early March, said Dr. Barton. Meanwhile, Dr. Leighanna Thompson will be joined at Primary Care Center by another doctor, bringing to five the number of doctors with practices locally.
