Several Arrests Are Made

During the period of January 4 through January 11 the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department (JCSD) reported the following arrests:
Christopher Chickory Stone, 27, Monticello—child support and probation violation.

Thomas Jester Jarrett, 61, Jackson—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, open container and failure to maintain lane.

Dexter Desmond Hardeman, 24, Mansfield—probation violation.

Jeremy Lee Wright, 28, Monticello—parole violation.

Roshonda Latrice Gibbs, 27, Madison—permitting another to escape lawful custody.

Michael Carl Matthews, 38, Shady Dale—theft by taking and probation violation.

Donavan Jermaine Clemons, 26, Hillsboro—driving while license suspended, probation violation and escape.

Also, during the above mentioned period deputies with the JCSO responded to 189 calls for service including 32 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 30 subject needs officer, 24 escort or convoy, 11 burglary, eight alarm, seven each road hazard and mechanical break down, five each accident and theft by taking, four each speeding auto and four wheeler, three each assist motorist, trouble unknown, attempt to serve warrant and transport of patient, two each dog disturbance, person dead, juvenile complaint, possible suicide, music/noise complaint, vandalism of property, argument and 911 hang up, one each fight, fire/structure, special detail, pickup prisoner, mental person, be on the look out, child abuse/molestation, assault, extra patrol, welfare check, child custody case, discharge firearms, entering auto, threatening/harassing calls, checking location persons refuse to leave, VGCSA and illegal dumping/littering.

During this same period the Monticello Police Department (MPD) reported the arrest of Andy Dewayne Hewatt, 34, of Monticello, and charged him with public drunkenness.

And during this period officers with the MPD responded to 70 calls for service including 14 escort or convoy, 11 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, nine subject needs officer, six alarm, three each accident, vandalism of property and 911 hang up, two each mechanical breakdown, crowd disbursement, road hazard and argument, one each fight, burglary, assist motorist, speeding auto, fire/brush, theft by taking miscellaneous EMS, welfare check, disorderly, possible suicide, trouble unknown, threatening/harassing calls and abandoned vehicle.
