Ms. Hinshaw was the grand prize winner of The Monticello News annual football contest. She had three chances to win as she had made the honor roll three times during the season. Her husband also plays and had several opportunities to win.

Ms. Hinshaw sold the ticket to fellow contest player Kasey Reid who very much wanted to go to the game, and was disappointed she did not win with her seven chances.
