Allen Barnell Rutherford

Allen Barnell Rutherford, 34, of Monticello, died Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle.

Allen Rutherford was born in Madison. He was a lifelong resident of Monticello. He loved outside activities including fishing. He was kind-hearted and loved his children. He enjoyed listening to different types of music. He worked as a landscaper. Later, he was a cattle farmer for Braxton’s Farms.

He is survived by his children, Alexandra Jeanette Rutherford, Allen Barnell Rutherford, Jr., and Samantha Leigh Ann Rutherford, all of Gray; parents, Betty Sue Lackey and Johnny Varnell Rutherford, of Monticello; grandmother, Dorothy Annie Belle Lackey of Monticello; sisters and brothers-in-law, Angela Marie Rutherford and Tito Leverette of Monticello and Pamela Sue Rutherford and Troy Gilroy of Mansfield adn Megan Ann Layton, of Monticello; a fiance, Kelly Ann Leyton, of Monticello; and nephews and nieces, Andrew Jordan, Alexis Rutherford, Sarah Leverette, Erica Leverette, Zander Leverette, and Elton Gilroy.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Rev. Preston Campbell will officiate.
