Man Arrested In City Court
Last week during Monticello City Court Marvis Wyman, 30, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
After being transported to the Jasper County Jail, a substance appearing to be marijuana was found on him and the additional charge of inmate possession of drugs or weapons across a guard line.
According to a report by the Monticello Police Department (MPD), Mr. Wyman showed up in city court with a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person. When an officer asked him to remove his hat and his doo-rag, he became loud and boisterous using obscene language, and was placed under arrest.

Willie Nelson Benjamin, 48, Monticello—theft by shoplifting and disorderly conduct.
Wonza Cohatton Hargrove, 21, Monticello—entering auto with intent to commit a felony, financial transaction card theft, financial transaction card fraud (2 counts), criminal receipt of goods and services fraudulently obtained (2 counts) and forgery in the first degree and probation violation.
Also, during this period The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) reported the following arrests:
John Belrmino Enrique, 45, Monticello—possession, manufacture, distribution of a controlled substance.
Steven Eugene King, 42, Sparta—probation violation.
Randy lee Heath, 29, Conyers—probation violation.
Alex Kelvin Carter, 49, Monticello—failure to appear bench warrant.
William Justin Wilson, 19, Monticello—theft by taking.
During this period deputies with the JCSO responded to 106 calls for service including 16 alarm, 14 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, nine subject needs officer, seven assist motorist, six each mechanical breakdown and burglary, five road hazard, four each accident and escort or convoy, three each livestock on road, theft by taking and pick up prisoner, two each dog disturbance, domestic, assault, discharge firearms and argument, one each intoxicated driver, intoxicated pedestrian, mental person, laceration, overdose, welfare check, road rage, private property, threatening/harassing calls, property found, checking location, attempt to serve warrant, identity fraud/theft and weather announcement.
