Thanksgiving Is This Thursday

This Thursday, Nov. 25, is Thanksgiving, a time to sit back and take account of all the blessings we have.

Some may find it harder than usual to find things to be thankful for in this economy, but many of us living in this country has plenty for which to say thanks.

Local schools have been closed all week, and local government offices will be closed both tomorrow and Friday, Nov. 25 and 26 for the holiday.

The Monticello News office will also be closed Thursday and Friday. However, newspapers are available for purchase at the machine in front of the office or several retail locations. Football contest entries or other correspondence may be dropped in the slot in the front door. Messages may be left on the answering machine for the staff to respond on Monday.

Post offices and banks will be closed Thursday only. Monticello Family Foods will be closed Thursday, however Ingles remains open all day. Virtually all business offices will be closed on Thursday, however some retail outlets will be open.
