‘Canes Lose In Overtime

The Monticello Middle School basketball ‘Canes faced Morgan County recently and lost 41-34 in overtime.

The scoring was led by Diquan Johnson with 11 points and Jakari Middlebrooks also with 11. Quinton Standifer added 8 points in the loss.

Both the boys and girls teams were back in action last Friday, Nov. 19 at Green County.

The ‘Canes are off throughout the Thanksgiving break and will face Carver Middle School December 1. All Middle School games are scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. with the Lady Canes scheduled to play first and the boys to follow.

The ‘Canes are coached by Buddy Cain and the Lady Canes by Kendra Lattimore.
