Section Salutes Veterans

A special section inside today’s paper salutes Jasper County veterans.

The section was made possible by the generosity of industries, businesses, civic groups and individuals.
If you enjoy looking at the photos, please take time to thank the sponsors.

Your Monticello News is arriving a day early this week because of the Veteran’s Day holiday. There is no mail service on Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11, and banks are also closed. Local schools are not taking the holiday. The city of Monticello will be open as usual, but the county observes the holiday.

The Monticello News office will be closed for the holiday, and will re-open Friday at 8:30 a.m. The fax and asnwering machines will be on, and football contest entries and other items can be placed in the slot in the front door. Newspapers are available in the box in front of the office.

The American Legion will have a Veteran’s Day dinner on Thursday.
