Pray for the Elected

As we settle in and accept the leaders we elected the first thing we need to do is pray for them.

Pray that the ugly rhetoric that got them elected is not how they will govern; pray that the monies that help get them elected will not be the ‘only’ loyalty they will honor; pray that they remember that this is a country whose founding ethos is ‘for the people, by the people and of the people.’

To the duly elected leaders I say “We the people need help folks.”
Help with day to day survival that will not be based on whether you have to keep a money fueled promise to help another American company send jobs out of the country for the sake of bigger and bigger profits for them and a descending into poverty for the American worker. We need jobs here and I defy you to continue to call us lazy because we can’t find one.

Our health care is touted as the best in the world, but we the people of the U.S. are not always the beneficiaries of that wonderful care. Stop tearing down anything that appears to be a solution of some sort and get your tails in gear and create or fix what is needed for jobs or health care…I’m just saying.

Did you notice that of the deluge of ads aimed at us the past several weeks there were very few positive ones? I give a shout out to our very own Susan Holmes for running a positive campaign based on an actual record of experience–Way to go Representative Holmes.
The thing that worries me is whether the flamethrowers are big enough boys and girls to put the ugly and wild charges aside and govern for us the people?

We have so many problems in our country that watching another two years of partisan wrangling is just something I personally don’t have an appetite for, especially when it does nothing for us the people.

We must hold our newly elected and returning officials accountable for what they do (or not) for us the people, so I propose that we mount our own form of annoying ads with letters and phone calls about what exactly they will do to help us the people.

A turnabout in fair play I say for our having to endure all the negative ads flooding our TV screens for what seemed like forever…I’m just saying.
