Haiden Crews Is Named Little Miss Fawn

Haiden Crews, the daughter of Eric and Amanda Crews of Monticello, was crowned Little Miss Fawn last Sunday, at the annual Deer Festival Pageant.
Montana Puckett, daughter of David and Stephanie Puckett of Monticello, was first runner-up. Montana also won the award for prettiest smile.The fawn’s court was also made up of Kagen Denny who won the award for prettiest eyes, Josephine Beasley who had prettiest hair, and Carlie Wilbanks who had the prettiest dress.
The court for Deer Festival Queen consists of Kalie Perkins, Jordana Pope, Angelia Brown, Caitlin Tillman, Chelsee Thomas, Amy Anuszczyk, and Andrea Tobler. The queen and first runner-up will be announced at the 44th annual Deer Festival on Saturday, Nov. 6, at about 1 p.m., after the parade.
Optional category winners were: prettiest eyes, Caitlin Tillman; prettiest smile, Andrea Tobler; congeniality, Amy Anuszczyk, and poise, Jordana Pope.

This year’s pageant was emceed by former Deer Festival pageant director, Pam (Hammonds) Mayer. It was sponsored by the Monticello-Jasper County Chamber of Commerce and Monticello Women’s Club. Thanks to all who helped make the pageant a success.
The crowning of the Deer Festival queen is just one of many special events that will take place at the Deer Festival on Saturday, Nov. 6. The Deer Dash begins at 8 a.m., and arts and crafts vendors will be set up by 9 a.m.
Entertainment is planned throughout the day, and numerous raffles are planned. Awards will be presented to successful hunters, too.
