Bobby Lee Dearro

Funeral services for Bobby Lee Dearrao were held Saturday, Oct. 16, at New Enon Baptist Church in Godfrey. Rev. Benjamin Hill officiated; burial was in Midway Independent Church cemetery in Shady Dale.

Mr. Dearro was born March 19, 1955 to Mable Dearro and the late Willie F. Dearro. He was a member of Midway Independent Church, and attended Jasper County High School. He was a member of the Monticello Mason Lodge #329.

Mr. Dearro worked for Monticello Red & White for 34 years. He also worked as a logger, Jasper County Deputy Sheriff, bus driver and mail carrier. In addition, he worked for Georgia-Pacific, A-1 Foods and Hideaway Package Store.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Ann Dearro; two daughters, Kimberly Ann Dearro and Gail Elaine Dearro; five sisters, Katherine (Harden) Jeffereson, Catherine (Riley) Kelly, Corine (Arthur) McGuire, Emma (Kenny) Rooks, and Cornelia Dearro; three brothers, his twin Benny (Eva) Dearro, Willie F. Dearro, Jr., and Evin (Andrea) Dearro; a special God-granddaughter, Naja (Pie) Paschal; a host of other relatives and friends, including special friends, Charles “Speedy” Campbell, Benny Bostic, Eugene Stinson, J.O. Turner, Ronnie Andrews and the Class of 1973.

Members of the Monticello Masonic Lodge #329 were pall bearers, and family and friends were flower ladies.

Mapp-Gilmore Pyramid Funeral Home, Madison, was in charge of arrangements.
