Judges Select Top Mutts

The seventh annual Mutt Show, sponsored by the Jasper County Humane Society was a huge success with nearly two dozen dogs registered.
Kate, owned and handled by Myles Proctor won “best in show. She also won first place for best dog trick, and took second for obstacle course, most obedient, best rollover, and best personality.
Other winners included Isabella who took first place for best personality. She is owned by Dina Wood, and was shown by Hannah Wood.
Other winners include Kroger for best rollover. Kroger was owned and shown by Don Miller. Suzie won first place for best dressed and Boo took second in that category. Suzie is owned by Sarah Calies who showed her, and Boo is the pet of Janet Jernigan.
Penny, owned by Lynne Jordan, won the owner look-a-like award, followed by Kroger. Love-E-Belle, the pet of Theresa Urbano, was named most obedient. Princess, handled by Don Miller III, won the obstacle course and the one who traveled the farthest.
Lily got second place for dog that traveled the farthest. Lily is the dog of Judy Moody. Tippy, shown by Morgan Caldwell, got the award for best tail wagger, and Johnnie, the pet of Sharon Pennebaker, placed second.
The award for longest ears went to Stacy, owned by Amy Harris, and shown by Lawton, followed by Kroger.
Susie got the award for oldest dog, and Chloe, the pet of Dina Wood, got the award for second oldest. Bear, the pet of Bobbi Maddox, shown by Trent, won the award for youngest dog, and Isabella was a close second.
Kroger won the award for largest dog, followed by Stacy. Sookie, owned by Shelby Dunninger won the award for smallest dog, followed by Isabella.
Other dogs who participated, but weren’t selected for the judges for any category listed, included Patti, the pet of Bobbi Maddox; Ruby, owned by Deanna Rakes, Kizzie, owned by Linda Knight, Bear and Choco, both owned by Jack Nabors.
