One Player Picks 15 Correct

Robert Manning was the only entrant in The Monticello News football contest to have a perfect score of 15—picking the winners in all 15 games listed, high school, college and pro.
Mr. Manning’s son, DeVaughn, picked up his dad’s $25 prize from Rod Cronan at R&R Discount Goods, last week’s prize sponsor. Mr. Manning was the first adult winner in this year’s contest, but there’s still a child receiving the prize.
R&R Discount Foods is relatively new business in Monticello, and a first-year contest sponsor. The grocery store is located on Venture Court off Hwy. 16 west in Monticello.
Mr. Manning gets his name on the grand prize honor roll for the second time this season. Another 115 players also got 12 or more correct to qualify for the grand prize honor roll. The grand prize is tickets for four to the Chick-fil-A bowl, pitting the ACC against the SEC. The game is scheduled for New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

This week, one lucky player will pick up a prize worth $25 from Frank’s Restaurant, this week’s sponsor. Anyone can play, and anyone can win, novice or veteran player. Notice, last week a five-year-old won, and this week a veteran contest player won.
Just complete the entry on page 11 of today’s paper, or write the answers on a separate piece of paper, and submit to The Monticello News office, 237 W. Washington St., about a half-block west of the Square by 5 p.m. tomorrow, Sept. 24. Entries also may be faxed to 706-468-6576.
Be sure to write legibly. Every week this year someone has been disqualified because an entry can’t be read. Also, remember you can only enter one time per week. All entries of persons entering more than once will be disqualified. And, be sure to include your name (first and last) and daytime phone number on the entry form.
