Joseph Edward Lawrence, Jr., 64, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010.

Services will be held Friday, Sept. 24, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Moore’s Funeral Home in Milledgeville with Rev. Ed Westbrook officiating. Burial will follow at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Lawrence was a native of Atlanta but made his home in Monticello for the past 10 years. He was retired from Lonestar Transportation and currently worked with Trucks Inc. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Lawrence of Monticello, his son, Eddie Lawrence of Waurika, Okla., two daughters, Tammy Williams of Monticello and Beth Gibbs of Locust Grove, four grandchildren; Jeffery, Zachary, Colby and Bryce Lawrence.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Moore’s Funeral Home.
