Herbert Clifford Penn

Herbert Clifford Penn, 92, born in Monticello, and a resident of Bay Minette, Ala. died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010 at North Baldwin Infirmary. He was a retired teacher and head football coach at Mitchell County High School in Camilla. He was also a veteran of the Army Air Corps having served during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Lucille Holman Penn, Bay Minette, Ala.; a son, Joseph H. (Cherry) Penn, Bay Minette, Ala.; two sisters, Linda Barber of Bainbridge and Victoria Paschel of Madison; six grandchildren, Charlie Diane Bryant Martz, Wheeler Hamilton Bryant, Morgan Virginia Bryant Robinson, Brian Joseph Penn, Laura Elizabeth Penn, Spencer Hayden Penn, Gerald Sullivan Duck and Frances Danielle Hamilton, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Virginia Lou Penn Bryant Embler.

Graveside services and burial will be held Friday, Sept. 17, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at Bay Minette Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Hewett officiating.
