Mrs. Betty Persons Ballard
Mrs. Betty Persons Ballard of Macon, 79, widow of Lucian Benton Ballard, died Sunday, November 29, 2009.
Funeral services are scheduled Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m. at Hart’s Mortuary at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, Macon with the Reverend Malcom Davis officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Ballard was a graduate of A.L. Miller High School and attended Huntingdon College, Montgomery, Ala.She was a member of the Mulberry Street United Methodist Church, charter parent member of Piedmont Academy (founding parent), and the Hill and Dale Garden Club. Mrs. Ballard was a member of Historic Macon.
Mrs. Ballard was the daughter of the late Henry Pinkney Persons, Sr. and Sarah Ruth Benton Persons.
Survivors include her three daughters, Beth Curles (Tommy)of Cordele, Becky Lee (Tommy) of Knoxville, Tenn., and Ruth Suddreth (Bob) of Concord, N.C.; six grandchildren, Betsy Curles, Ashley Lee, Matthew Lee, Sarah Suddreth, Rob Suddreth, and Lucy Suddreth; a brother, Henry Pinkney Persons, Jr. of Macon; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Bertha Wardrick, Alexis Fitzgerald, Evelyn Robertson, Jacinthia Curry, Mae Minor, and Janice Gail for their wonderful care and dedication to Mrs. Ballard.
