Superior Court Arraignments Are Set
In the latest criminal session of Jasper Superior Court, Daniel L. Smith pled guilty to burglary, criminal damage to property and obstruction of an officer.
Mr. Smith was sentenced to 12 months probation with 60/120 days to serve in a detention center, $1,332 in fines and fees and $371 in restitution.

Others pleading guilty, with charges and sentencing as shown, are as follows:
• Ryan Freeman to battery—sentenced to 12 months probation and $594 in fines and fees.
• Leann Husley Taylor to battery—sentenced to 12 months probation and $594 in fines and fees.
• Robert Miles, Jr., to possession of marijuana less than one ounce—sentenced to 12 months probation and $944 in fines and fees.
• Lori Little to battery—sentenced to 12 months probation and $594 in fines and fees.
• Mark Wayne Britt to battery—sentenced to 12 months probation, $594 in fines and fees and ordered to attend anger management classes.
• John H. Farmer, Jr., to driving while license suspended or revoked, no proof of insurance and concealing identity of vehicle—sentenced to 12 month probation and $554 in fines and fees.
• Grace D. Hicks to battery—sentenced to 12 months probation and $594 in fines and fees.
• Timothy D. Rogers to battery—sentenced to 12 months probation and $594 in fines and fees.
• Brandon A. Oliver to battery—sentenced to 12 months probation, $44 monthly probation fee and $2,310 in restitution.
• Jason Garrison to sale of oxycodone and sale of hydrocodone—sentenced to seven years to be served on probation and $3,632 in fines and fees.
The following individuals failed to appear to answer charges and a bench warrant was issued for their arrest: Wendell Lewallen, Trellis Ray Bailey, Travis Williams and Danny Shane Jones.
Another 20 individuals pled not guilty to charges and will be scheduled for jury trials unless plea bargain settlements are reached prior to such time. Also, another 12 cases were continued.
On the Criminal Motion Day Calendar the following individuals had their probation revoked or modified with details as follows:
• Aaron Michaels on probation for a burglary conviction in June of 2002, failed to report and failed to pay court ordered fines—sentenced to 90 days in jail suspended upon entry into a detention center for 150/210 days, and upon completion return to regular probation.
• Kenneth Darnell James on probation for a burglary conviction in February of 2008, violated his probation by stipulation—sentenced to 30 days in jail and upon completion return to regular probation.
• Matthew Jackson on probation for violation of the Georgia controlled substance act in July of 2007, violated his probation by stipulation—sentenced to Intensive Probation and upon completion return to regular probation.
• John Clifford Lackey on probation for criminal trespass conviction in August of 2009, violated his probation on the new charges of disorderly conduct and underage consumption of alcohol in the Jasper County Jail—sentenced to 10 days in jail, then return to regular probation.
• Edward Lee Williams had his probation modified—case dismissed and remaining conditions waived.
